We’ve been here since 2004, but in a totally different distribution of the space. Do you have an inspiration board? We do have an inspiration board just in front of the materioteca. What was the inspiration behind it? . Once we’ve started working in this new space we’ve noticed that there is never enough space to store.

Inspired by its situation within the MediaCityUK development, the 74 team has designed a narrative for the space that reflects local architecture. When the hotel was restored in 2004, it was during a time when “public spaces in hotels aspired to be more reverential than multi-functional”, the studio says.

The project integrates past design and materials used in the space, including from the original 2004 stairs. Natural light, wood texture, and use of the color sage green introduced a grounding aspect. For example, curtains allow the user to open or divide a space as fit. This is an amazing project.”.

Facebook has been Facebook since 2004, and was more than due an update when you consider how many companies they’ve absorbed over the years.
