The most lucrative jobs were within advertising but these jobs were rare. As a rough guide, in 2019 there are 253 working days which would work out at £37,950 at £150 a day – a good salary. Some illustrators work from home and others rent studios – it is rare for an illustrator to get regular freelance work on-site.
