Closing out the final Designer Desktop of 2022 is one of our favorite designers, Jill Malek ! Inspired by the beauty and wonders of the natural world, the collection of non-repeating patterned murals can be scaled to custom fit a space as they are digitally printed on textured, embossed surfaces.

Fascinated by the Aspen trees’ rich texture and history, they became the jumping-off point for this collection, spurring three new graphic patterns inspired by forest imagery at numerous scales and perspectives. The fairgrounds themselves were fully activated: Rather than the abbreviated experience of last September’s Supersalone, every padiglione at Salone del Mobile 2022 was full as leading furniture companies, from Living Divani and Poliform to the kitchen brands showing in EuroCucina, returned to erect massive stands. Aspen depicts rows of tree trunks with texturized cutouts that resemble crisp, white bark. From afar, Aspen resembles an irregular pinstripe, but up close the bark reveals the complexity and texture of the bark. 3form’s high resolution printing capabilities allows designers to print images that span over large areas with precision.
