It makes me reflect on how important it is to be where things happen, to inhabit the right place to be inspired, and to observe. In Berlin, René Bieder designed a typeface inspired by a shop sign he discovered while walking the streets of his new neighborhood, in his hometown.

Inspired by classics like Neuzeit Grotesk, Futura, and 1930s grotesque sans serifs, Plus Jakarta Sans features clean-cut shapes with almost monolinear contrast and sharp curves. Lora is a carefully balanced font with a contemporary feel, inspired by calligraphy. These fonts bring a fresh perspective to the table.

The traditional indigo is a reference to the “refined elegance and sophistication that exemplifies Japan” while the pattern is inspired by ‘inchimatsu moyo’ patterns from the Edo period (1603-1867). The torch has been inspired by Japan’s cherry blossoms with a pattern that resembles petals.
