Prefectures, cities, towns, and train stations adopt cute mascot characters or “yuru kyara” to promote tourism and local goods. Corporate & Brand Mascots Companies also utilise character mascots or “yuru kyara” for promotions and advertising. However, local products feature a traditional ukiyo e-e aesthetic.
