The windy legs also create an S shape in an instance of graphic art-cum-typography. One of our favourite projects from 2017; it's the type of brand every designer longs to work on, with it's clever name and lovely roll out. The classic eateries feel, we think, feeds into their choice of colours, typography and added extras.

By this point I felt I’d gained enough experience to go it alone, so that’s exactly what I did in 2017. I designed resources initially, then went on to help develop new products, before becoming acting Chief Brand Officer, taking responsibility for the look and feel of their entire, quite vast, creative output.

But I never appreciated the cumulative role that Behrens and his contemporaries in Germany played in transforming modern visual communication until I read the admirable new book by Jens Müller, Pioneers of German Graphic Design. Callisto Publishers, 2017). Müller's expertise in discussing these issues is truly impressive.
