The now 565-square-metre space deftly marries texture, striking forms and public space to create a cultural hub for the school. This link to community was a key driver of the design.

One of the biggest impacts of the newly expanded Art Gallery of New South Wales , in Sydney, Australia, is made at the programmatic level. The Tank is the lowermost gallery, located in a decommissioned fuel tank bunker. It creates a visual link to the limestone of the exterior façade and introduces a warmth uncommon to gallery spaces.
