We all want to build robust and engaging web experiences. We scrutinize every detail of an interaction. We spend hours getting the animation swing just right. We refactor our JavaScript to shave tiny fractions of a second off load times. We control absolutely everything we can, but the harsh reality is that we control less than we think. Last week, two events reminded us, yet again, of how right Douglas Crockford was when he declared the web “the most hostile software engineering environment ima
When talking about drawing for graphic design projects, we’re very often talking about a digital process. We’re so used to sitting in front of our computers, plugging away at pixels in Photoshop and Illustrator, that we sometimes forget to step away, grab a pen or pencil, and just draw. Here, we provide six simple drawing practice exercises that revolve around drawing for graphic design.

I love painting portraits and I love using gouache. So to combine the two and share my love for both the subject and the medium in a workshop is pure joy. I am a believer that everyone is creative, we just need a little bit of time and a little bit of space. And some inspiration and likeminded people around us to encourage :) I taught a lovely group of 5 the other weekend.
I'm really excited to announce an exhibition of all my original paintings and sketches for 'Paisley Rabbit and the Treehouse Contest'. It will be held at the Pound Arts Centre, Corsham, from Saturday 5th May - Saturday 9th June. Plus I will be signing books from 12-2pm on the opening Saturday. Not only will the originals be available to purchase. I am stocking the venue with cards, prints and of course books!
