The approved rough design for the book cover Last week I started work on the final painting for the book cover of Paisley Rabbit and the Treehouse Contest. Naturally this is one of, possibly the most important illustrations for the book, so I decided to enlarge the painting even further than normal to give me maximum room to create a really detailed and luscious watercolour illustration.
It's no secret that I love to switch things up and work with a variety of media in my illustrations. You'll probably most often see my digital illustration work, as that's usually what I work with for commissioned illustration, but you'll also find me using a lot of ink and watercolour behind the scenes. Sometimes I think it's really a case of getting away from the computer and completely throwing yourself into the physical aspects of painting.
Many people use the idiom “don’t judge a book by its cover” to remind others that people should not prejudge the value of something based solely by its outward appearance. Yet when it comes to actual books, few heed that advice. The simple truth is that today, nearly everyone judges a book by its cover. Covers matter. A lot. They had seen my foodie illustrations on Pinterest and felt that my approach would be perfect for their client. Marlenes Market and Deli is a natural food store that offers organic, sustainably produced foods, beauty care and household products that was established in 1976, with two stores.

SITUATION. Germany has welcomed over one million refugees displaced by the conflict in Syria. Asylum seekers face new challenges in Germany: the majority of Syrian refugees cannot understand the German or English and are unable to read the Roman alphabet. This language barrier makes communication between asylum seekers and caregivers extremely difficult.
Here's a little New Year's gift to you all. In other news I have recently completed this illustration for 'Paisley Rabbit & the Treehouse Contest'. 31 x 39cm watercolour and gouache Here Paisley is meeting the site manager and architect as they, and the construction team, begin work on building Paisley's treehouse. As you can see, I started out with a cobalt blue underpainting, in the hope all the shadows would remain cool which would create a nice contrast with the warm spots of dappled lig

Today, as the saying goes, is the first day of the rest of your life. For the exiting President and First Lady, who for eight years have represented this nation with dignity, and led it with courage, today begins the next chapter in their lives as public servants, as stewards of the new Office of Barack and Michelle Obama. We at Hoefler&Co have had the extraordinary privilege of seeing our typefaces accompany the Obamas on every step of their journey.

Yes yes I know I'm underdressed for this time of year but really IT'S TOWELLLING! I don't know what draws me to this fabric, maybe it's the nostalgia factor - memories of my mother wrapping me in her 70's Pucci beach wrap on Miami beach, or maybe it's the fact it's Miu Miu (by the way that's the noise I make when I get my paws on some) but you all need to get some for your summer hols - swimming cap optional. bunny kisses Fifi Lapin xxx talk to me via.

I need to persuade him to up my monthly allowance.
