The first time she picked up a colored pencil was 70 years ago. As soon as I learned to hold a pencil in my hand, my mother bought me a set of colored pencils and sketchbook, in which I drew beauties; many beauties with braids and bright ribbons in their hair. Since 2004, I’ve been an active member of my city’s art studios.

In 1907, the law specifically instructed that the field of blue had to be the “same color as the blue field in the flag of the United States. The blue and yellow colors commemorate the original Swedish colonization of Philadelphia which draws a strong connection to its history. Pennsylvania Seal. Philadelphia Seal.

The palette consists of rich, saturated colors accented with gold in the lighting and fixture finishes. The project integrates past design and materials used in the space, including from the original 2004 stairs. Natural light, wood texture, and use of the color sage green introduced a grounding aspect.
