Beastie Boys’ Mad magazine inspired debut, full of schoolboy visual gags to accompany their ironic frat boys persona. The prints would be rough and sometimes cruddy. Keeping it an independent company from Def Jam allowed them to take jobs from other labels and clients. Beastie Boys, Licenced to Ill. Licensed to Ill (1986).
