Slightly different from other courses, USC’s Design BFA is based around the idea that all designers are artists and makers so starts with a first year foundation which includes illustration, drawing and other media. Students also get hands-on in skills-based workshops in 2D and 3D design-specific media.

To this end we used several different fonts and layering of patterns, text and illustrations. We developed different graphic styles – a coloured textural triangle pattern, a fishing net pattern and a fun collage of newspaper clippings featuring owner John Stamoulis who is well known in Melbourne’s fishing and seafood communities.

Founded over 150 years ago back in 1870, Philadelphia’s University of the Arts is divided into two schools: The College of Media, Art and Design and The College of Performing Arts.
