Stoke-on-Trent-based illustrator and animator QianhuiYu is on a mission to highlight social problems and tell stories from new perspectives. Originally from Guilin, China, QianhuiYu has travelled around the world and settled in the UK to pursue her career as an animation director and illustrator.
Meiklejohn Established in 1974, Meiklejohn collaborates with creatives from the world of advertising, design and publishing to create inspiring illustration works. Artists on their books include QianhuiYu, Jiaqi Wang, Jeanne Detallante, Toma Vagner and Vincent Mahé.
It’s hard to tear your eyes away from QianhuiYu’s alluring animations. Born and raised in China, Yu loved to draw as a child. Yu moved from China to London in 2019 to study animation at the RCA. The RCA is full of exceptionally talented students and tutors who are very inspiring,” she says.
