The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) has been judging books by their covers for over 100 years. Although there is only black ink on white paper, there is enough sparkle to suggest color. Since 1923 to be exact — but it’s also what’s inside that counts. The book has an air of spontaneity.
