I signed up for hackathons and startup weekends in Ottawa where I spent my weekends with complete strangers taking a project from a prompt to building something and pitching it. I had no idea what I was doing, but I facilitated workshops, designed websites, became a project manager and learned more than I ever would have from articles alone.
