From 1919 to 1933, the Bauhaus united fine arts and crafts to create practical yet beautiful designs for the machine age. He aimed to start a new movement in the visual arts that rejected the excessive historicism and ornamentation that defined late 19th-century design in favour of a modern , industrial aesthetic.

Submissions will be juried by Lauren Rosati, Associate Curator, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City and Maya Brooks, Assistant Curator, North Carolina Museum of Art. This is an international open call, and all visual media is eligible. Three prizes with cash, an exhibition opportunity, and a residency will be awarded.
