Emory Douglas is an American graphic designer most notably known for his time as Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party from 1967-1980 and oversaw its artistic direction of its newspaper, The Black Panther. He was first exposed to graphic arts during a stint at the California Youth Authority when he was a teenager.
