What Emmeline Wore In July - Day 31. Final Day!

Emmeline Illustration

It's the last day of the What Emmeline Wore In July project! What? How did July skim by so quickly? Today, because it's quite special, I've got a yummy double feature of this raindrop print t-shirt aaand this Shore Projects Portland watch that I've been in love with for months. I wrote a little about People Tree and their ethical niceness in my blog post yesterday and I'm thrilled to have Shore Projects involved with this as well.

Pull Quotes

Fonts by Hoefler&Co.

It’s surprising how much writing that isn’t about design turns out to be about design. For years, I’ve been squirreling away sentiments that resonate with me, scribbling them into sketchbooks or thumbing them into many generations of smartphone. Their sources vary: a hard-boiled mystery that I read on vacation, an in-flight magazine interview with a restaurateur, a book about viniculture, Twitter.

It's been a blustery (but beautiful) few days in Cornwall, and today I'm embracing the wild weather in this gorgeous People Tree dress. I've loved People Tree for a long time, they're a real gem: promoting (and practising) fair trade and ethical fashion. This dress in particular is organic and carbon neutral too, nice! I'm visiting my family this week and so I've been reunited with the family-cat Suki! She's a cheeky, furry, adorable wild-thing. So, we're nearly at the end of the What Emmeline Wore In July project! Only two more days to go, and really it's been a lot easier than I anticipated (no significant burn-out or cramped up hands). I think it's definitely helped that I've been organised with it and I sketched some base poses on a huge sheet beforehand, saving me a little time and making sure there's eno

What Emmeline Wore In July - Day 28

I've been staying with my family this week, and (of course) we all know one of the best things to do when you're re-united with your family is play a ton of boardgames. We played Betrayal At House On The Hill last night and ended up pretty defeated by a rampant ghost. Bonus points for anyone who can work out what game I've featured (roughly) in the illustration above!

What Emmeline Wore In July - Day 26. Seasalt in Cornwall.

Emmeline Illustration

Today I'm wearing this absolutely gorgeous Penn Tir Seasalt dress.which is pretty apt as I'm heading down to visit my family in Cornwall! This high-seas pattern was designed in Falmouth (where I spent my uni years) and is featured as one of Seasalt Cornwall's unique prints. Browsing through their website made me yearn for the South-West, so many of their clothes are named after Cornish towns and old haunts.

What Emmeline Wore In July - Day 25

Emmeline Illustration

I'm posting this a little later than I usually do, as I've been making the most of this summery Saturday by relaxing in my local park. There are so many beautiful wildflower meadows around at the moment, full of gorgeously-coloured poppies and cornflowers. I sat in the grass by a lake and watched some ducks/seagulls/baby moorhens flit around in the sunshine.
