It all started off as a curious discovery exercise (like how most of my side projects begin), that soon lead into a 5 month book design journey. My deep love for books, their design and contents, has always been strong, but designing a book, rather than just consuming one, is a totally different ball game.

Just loving the general art direction and typography in this one, especially the creamy, off-white paper stock. Clothing isn’t separated into gendered sections, and instead the models are photographed in outfits that mix clothing from traditional genders.

The simple black-and-white paper document they designed didn’t include a single elegant illustration and looks incredibly boring, yet it succeeded in helping many consumers understand the total cost and risks associated with a mortgage and significantly reduced the number of people losing their houses to risky mortgages in the US.
