The annual competition was originally known as Fifty Books of the Year, and jurors focused on the “construction of the book and the printed page”, its current organiser Heather Strelecki tells Design Week.

He studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art before relocating to Barcelona in 1991. In 2007 he set up his first press. Since 2011 he is based in Berlin.
