When I first ventured into the wonderful and slightly precarious world of freelance illustration, I felt confident about most aspects of my work – I was skilled, experienced and had worked with a good range of clients. The only snag was that I now had to put a price on my work and, short of picking a number out of a hat, I knew I had to have a method that earned me a sustainable living.
