In this article, we'll highlight 12 female designers who in one way or another have made waves, not only in the design world but also in communities outside of it. Gail Anderson is a graphic designer and writer who graduated from the School of Visual Arts. In 2005, she co-founded her own studio Atlas with Pablo Martin.

On top of this, she is also a teacher at the School of Visual Arts, contributes to Imprint and Uppercase magazine and has co-authored numerous books, including The Typographic Universe, American Typeplay and New Modernist Type. He lectures at his alma mater the School of Visual Arts and other colleges across America.
