Happier and Healthier Plants

Sponsored by PRO-MIX

My boo and I have been hanging out a lot in our backyard since we’re spending more time at home. We’re really thankful that we have a little outdoor oasis to escape to. Last month, we had some spring storms roll in and made everything grow wild. So over the weekend we pulled up a bunch of weeds, mowed the lawn, and cleaned up the patio. I figured it was also time to repot my plants. You’re probably wondering, what? Yeah, I’m kind of notorious for just leaving store-bought plants in their plastic pots and nesting them in ceramic pots.

Well, I’m turning a new leaf! And sweet thanks to PRO-MIX for motivating me to do it. This was my first time learning about the Canadian soil brand and they’re fantastic. The packaging is bold. I love that they use a black background and allow the typography and plant imageries to pop. It looks fresh and sophisticated.

Let’s start with the outdoor pots, shall we? Our in-law suite recently got new siding and we painted it black so it looks like a separate guesthouse from our main house. I planted two simple Kentia palms in white pots. We used the organic garden mix which is perfect for outdoor plants or raised garden beds. The soil has natural active ingredients to improve the soil structure and minimize soil erosion. Our side alley is way more lush now. Doesn’t it look fancy with The Sterling Guesthouse removable window cling? It’s my pretend boutique hotel.

Next up was our olive tree which has been sitting in a white planter for over a year now. It was time. It looks better now with rocks on it too! We also planted some florals like Mexican marigolds way in the back. The yard needed a bit of color. They also produce a very strong scent which I love.

Now we’re gonna step inside and repot the indoor plants. Yep, all the plants you’ve seen in my home previously were in plastic pots sitting inside ceramic pots as well! Guilty! Here, we’re gonna use the moisture potting mix which has great moisture control for optimal and necessary water retention and aeration. They also use exclusive technology with mycorrhiza which help stimulate roots for healthy plants. I’ve been meaning to repot my Ficus Audrey and I finally found a pot big enough for it. And even though I don’t mind the white pot, I actually miss the fabric so I wrapped it back up. Also moved my monstera to this corner of my living room.

Not only did I repot my indoor plants, I also added a few edibles in our kitchen because it gets sun light all day long by the window. I got some cilantro, basil, chives, and rosemary. We are cooking five times a week now so might as well have a little herb medley up in here! Now all my plants are gonna be healthier and happier with PRO-MIX high-quality peat-based soil. I’m glad I finally did this. Definitely go check out PRO-MIX and tell me what you think! Time to bring your indoor and outdoor gardens to life!
