Light and Dwell Open a Shop Carrying Their Own Sustainable Furniture Collection

Light and Dwell, the Oregon-based interior design studio founded by Aymee Kuhlman and Molly Kidd, has officially opened the doors to the new Light and Dwell Shop! With sustainability guiding their residential projects and years spent creating custom pieces under their collective belt, a home furniture collection all their own is now available in the Shop.

With Kidd as Principal Designer, the series features essential furniture pieces that lend a fresh perspective to classic designs. You’ll notice elements of vintage European silhouettes throughout, as well as several pieces with scalloped finishes. The furniture is handmade in an Oregon wood atelier using harvested white oak that’s been gathered from fallen trees. The quality craftsmanship put in upfront ensures longevity of the furniture, providing a long life ahead.

Charli Nightstand

The scalloped drawer cannot be missed in the Charli Nightstand’s design. Crafted with high-quality wood, the joinery is another highlight of the versatile, timeless piece. Hand-finished, the bottom shelf is a great place to display a few of your favorite things or your latest stack of books to be read.

“We designed this heirloom nightstand with thoughtful proportions top of mind to make it every bit as functional as charming (hello, storage),” the duo shared.

Frankie Stool

The Frankie Stool strikes a happy medium between traditional and modern. Made of hand-shaped, sustainably harvested oak wood, the classic silhouette and scallop give it a casually refined feel. The texture and warmth the stool provides makes it ideal seating for casual kitchen island dining. Its dark wood acts as a neutral, while the stool’s sleek lines enhance any space.

Louis Stool

It’s named the Louis Side Table, but its versatility means you can also put it to work as a nightstand, hallway accent, or even in the bath. The organic, almost bulbous legs paired with a scalloped-edge tabletop are an unexpected and delightful pairing. Light and Dwell notes that the table works especially well in smaller spaces.

They added, “We’ve designed this with thoughtful proportions to make it every bit as functional as it is charming. Try it anywhere you need a bespoke moment, displayed storage, or a simple spark of joy.”

Piper Bench

The Piper Bench is the most old-world feeling in the collection, as well as the most inspired by vintage style. The bench’s back features the scalloped edge carried throughout the series, while the apron is topped with a ball finial. Further character and beauty emerge as its texture and craftsmanship are revealed.

Ruby Console

Closely related in style is one final piece – the Ruby Console. Leaning on the same vintage vibe as the Piper Bench, Ruby’s stained white oak frame and ball finial leg feels minimal and tailored. It’s a piece you’re sure to have forever, so place it in the entryway or behind a sofa – you have plenty of time to find the perfect spot.
