Unfortunately, Syria has become identified by the horrible war that has been going on for a very long time. Some people, however, don’t want to forget the rich ancient and modern history of that beautiful country.

Kinda Ghannoum, Sally Alassafen, and Hala Al Afsaa, three designers with a Syrian background, have decided to keep the memory of Syrian design alive by creating the Syrian Design Archive. The archive can be consulted on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest, and it features lots of graphic design work, stamps, or typographic work.

If you are like myself and had little exposure to Syrian design, you will be pleasantly surprised by the large variety of design styles and influences, but also the interesting approach on modern Arabic typography.
