Born in Baguio City in the Philippines and currently based in Vancouver, Canada, photographer Rydel Cerezo explores the spaces between sexuality, religion and race with his work. His series “To Be From The Same Tree” traces his relationship with his Belgian partner and partner’s family, reflecting on cultural ideas of family and the position of power in constructing, continuing, and discovering historical crossovers seemingly apart from his own.
