Finding a dearth of no-alcohol cocktail options to serve when entertaining, Lauren Chitwood, Abbey Ferguson, and Lexie Larsen founded Spiritless

Their first product was Kentucky 74, made using a patented reverse distillation process, a non-alcoholic replacement for bourbon designed for cocktails. On the heels of the successful, award-winning Kentucky 74, the women-led Spiritless distillery has unveiled its latest no-ABV creation, a tequila-like Jalisco 55.

The bottle design for Jalisco 55 takes strong cues from Kentucky 74’s packaging. Both feature labels embossed with graphics—in Jalisco 55’s case, the packaging design includes agave plants, citrus wedges, cowboy boots, the state of Texas, a surfboard, and boxing gloves. Sharp typography lends class and craft to the label, and the “A” and “L” in Jalisco come overlapped, just as the “U” and “C” are on Kentucky 74’s bottle. Spritless’ bouncy wordmark gets placed along the bottom of the label, and the bottle itself is stout, square-shaped, and reminiscent of standard tequila fair. Case packaging features the same graphics embossed on the bottle in a stream across two panels.
