Some people, however, don’t want to forget the rich ancient and modern history of that beautiful country. Kinda Ghannoum, Sally Alassafen, and Hala Al Afsaa, three designers with a Syrian background, have decided to keep the memory of Syrian design alive by creating the Syrian Design Archive.

It started in 2014 with the purchase of a vintage 1956 Oliver Courier typewriter. Now 7 years, 35 typewriters, and nearly 100 works of art later, James Cook is a bonafide typewriter artist. James draws his inspiration from artist, Paul Smith, 1921-2007; a Philadelphia-born typewriter artist who suffered severe cerebral palsy his entire life. Smith produced intricately-detailed drawings that are stamped with thousands of letters, numbers and punctuation marks.

Le Plessis-Robinson is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 10.5 km (6.5 mi) from the center of Paris. It was first mentioned in 839 as Plessiacus apud Castanetum, meaning plessis near Castanetum. A plessis was a village surrounded by a fence made of branches. h/t: vintag.es. In 1112 the village church was founded, of which the romanesque tower still survives as the oldest monument of Le Plessis.
