These Superb Metal Sculptures Are Made of Old Cutlery

The South Carolina artist Matt Wilson (previously here) has an old hobby of collecting old cutlery and silverware.

You may think that it’s an odd thing to collect, but everything will suddenly make perfect sense when you see how he utilizes all this cutlery. The thing is, Wilson breathes new life into these old forks and spoons, reimagining them as live beings. He carefully polishes each fork, each spoon, and each butter knife he can find, and then he bends and combines them into lifelike sculptures of birds and other animals.

Finally, the artist mounts each metallic animal on a piece of found wood, which makes his artwork completely recycled.
