Kristian Hammerstad is a Norwegian illustrator who draws funny and slightly psychedelic pop art pictures with robots, zombies, aliens and other mutants. He designs book covers, records and does illustrations for publications such as the New York Times, the New Yorker and MIT Technology Review. In addition to his lush coloring and memorable style, Hammerstad’s work has a good sense of humor.

There is a fundamental disconnect between DeFi utopia and good UX. The decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem was built because people lost trust in the big corporations so in DeFi utopia, there aren’t any. Users connect directly and anonymously, interacting based on algorithmically enforced contracts. However, to bring DeFi to meaningful scale, we need to take this beyond crypto’s technically savvy early adopters and bring regular people into the fold.
