In her latest series Forbidden Foods , photographer Ana Straže pierces a peeling slice of grapefruit, a cut eggplant, and other fruits and vegetables using small pins topped with pearls to create contemporary still lifes of common foods. The Slovenia-based artist manipulates food and positions the pins in patterns as an attempt to alter the meaning of the every day objects.

A new stop-motion film chronicles the excitement, messiness, and tragedy of love. Directed by BAFTA -winning animation director Anushka Naanayakkara , “ A Love Story ” depicts two characters who are made of wool, lace, and other fabric remnants as they navigate an entangled relationship. Artist Rivka Wilkins and woodworker Jared Davis have collaborated on a series of beautiful coffee tables that capture ocean waves crashing on the shores of a live edge walnut coffee table. The crashing waves are created using a series of layered resin atop a gorgeous walnut slab of reclaimed wood. The table is finished with flatbar steel legs and the remainder of the slab not covered by waves is.

Norwegian cake designer Caroline Eriksson, who built a truly impressive giant gingerbread Alien Xenomorph sculpture in 2018, has even outdone her own self with a breathtakingly detailed giant gingerbread Groot that sits at the kitchen table. Like her previous work, Eriksson formed the gingerbread around a giant iron frame. The entire project took Eriksson five weeks to finish.
