Illustrating Movies Before and After with Francine Siew

Illustrator and Art Director Francine Siew of Wei Design is taking a novel approach to illustrated movie posters, creating 2 distinct versions before and after watching the film with compelling and sometimes hilarious results.

“For Perception VS Reality, I decided to explore this habit of mine. Instead of illustrating posters after watching them, I decided to design and produce the posters without watching the films. I also create another set of posters for after watching, just to compare how wrong, or right, I was. It was an exploration of stereotypes in films and based solely on the names and a couple hints from helpful friends.”

Check out a few of the movies illustrated below and click here to find out more about the process behind each one.
