The Dead City Of Pripyat Now Has A Christmas Tree!

The dead city of Pripyat now has a Christmas tree! Some former citizens of the city joined the small celebration. They willingly came to decorate the tree installed next to the Palace of Culture “Energetik”. Some photos of their childhood years are hanging now on the tree together with decorations.

In July 2019, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi lifted the ban on visiting the 30-kilometer exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Tourists were allowed to videotape, and the authorities promised to improve communication at the disaster site.
