In today’s Adobe Photoshop tutorial I’m going to take you through the process of creating a WW2 aircraft ‘nose art’ inspired image, featuring the classic ‘girl-riding-a-bomb’ style pin-up. Traditionally this style of artwork was hand-painted on bombers to boost morale and to bring good luck to the planes, perhaps the most well-known being the B-17 Memphis Belle.

Twelve years and 1,250 hours of exposure time later, Finnish photographer J-P Metsavainio stitched together a massive, 1.7-gigapixel composite detailing every fiery burst and starry expanse dotting the Milky Way. The stellar mosaic documents the 125-degree stretch between Taurus to Cygnus and is comprised of 234 individual images that extend across 10,000 pixels.

Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) has rebranded online grocery retailer Ocado, in a bid to “avoid confusion” with other supermarkets. Founded in 2000, Ocado has partnered with other supermarket brands in the UK to expand its offer throughout its 21-year history. Previously, this was with Waitrose and now the supermarket works with M&S. However, in partnering with these companies, the public perception of the brand had become confused, according to JKR.

Taking place between 17-28 March, this year’s event will include 26 feature film screenings as well as a programme of shorts selected in partnership with The British Council. Russia’s only active female cosmonaut has inspired the latest astronaut Barbie doll from Mattel’s campaign to inspire women. Anna Kikina, 36, is set to become the fourth Russian woman to go into space with a fall 2022 mission to the International Space Station a decade after her admission to the cosmonaut corps. h/t: themoscowtimes.
