Glassmorphism effects have become a staple in modern web design. They offer a sleek aesthetic and fit beautifully with just about any background color. The exact definition of glassmorphism can vary a bit. However, it’s essentially a “frosted” or semi-transparent element that mimics the look of glass and appears to hover over the rest of the page.

In the spring of ’95, I was a staff photographer at LIFE magazine, and was assigned to photograph the subjects of four famous, Pulitizer Prize winning photos, all taken some twenty five years or so previous. One of them, Mary Ann Vecchio, as a teenage runaway, was photographed by John Filo, leaning over the body of a dead student at Kent State University, on May 4th, 1970.

As I write this, I’m in the middle of such a disruption. Two members of my family are hospitalized with (non-life-threatening, thankfully) medical issues. Ukrainian artist and urban sketcher Nikita Busyak has found a way to make his pen and ink sketches glow with life.
