A Man from Belarus Builds and Navigates an Incredible Boat Out of Only Ice
Ivan Karpitsky, a self-taught artist from Minsk, Belarus, crafted a functional ice boat capable of carrying at least one person, showcasing his talent on social media.
Known for his ice and snow sculptures, Karpitsky gained fame for an ice violin in 2020. This winter, he exceeded expectations with his ice boat project, constructed on the Tsnyanskoe reservoir’s banks. Utilizing ice blocks and water as glue, he employed power tools for intricate details, including an aesthetic ice rudder and detachable paddle wheels for the illusion of propulsion. The boat’s exact size is unclear, but it likely accommodates one or two passengers.
