Pack of the Month: Roaster Works With Studio MPLS to Bring Its Coffee Tins to Bold, Retro Life

Published

Roastar is a Wisconsin-based supplier of custom-printed packaging supplies. They service a wide variety of clients, whether it’s cannabis and pet food or chocolate and candy brands. But what they’re probably known best for is coffee packaging. You’ve likely already seen some of their handiwork in the form of Death Wish and Dark Matter.

But they also produce coffee tins, and around these here parts, we’re big fans. After all, some of us were raised on Chock full O’ Nuts steel tubs and can remember when Folgers didn’t come in a plastic tub. Not only do tin coffee cans provide a more premium experience while offering a different brand experience, but they’re infinitely recyclable, perfect for any coffee roaster that genuinely cares about sustainability and plastic waste.

To promote these gorgeous, gorgeous cans, Roastar worked with one of our favorite studios, the immensely crafty and talented Studio MPLS. With Gorgeous typography and retro flair, the coffee can looks like it was freshly unearthed from a 70s time capsule. And our readers loved it so much that it was an obvious choice for our March 2024 Pack of the Month. We spoke with Brent Schoepf of Studio MPLS about the design process and how copy helped bring the packaging to life.
