Old School Aesthetics Inspires Teakoe's Packaging System

Tapping into old-school athleticism, Teakoe's packaging system is reminiscent of the 80s. The packaging is designed by Lamora Design, and the striking color palettes and playful illustrations drive the design home. And while old-school aesthetics inspires the design, there's a contemporary touch that allows the brand to feel absolutely timeless.

Starting with our “Recreational Refreshment” strategy, we took the brand into a space of play and activity. Naturally, since our brewing methods are “old school,” it made sense to tap into the same old-school spirit of the athletics world. Bold typography that cuts right through the clutter to communicate our main proposition, along with a simple and direct illustration style. Both are supported by distinct and memorable color palettes identifying each flavor. These cans are dressed in uniforms, not wraps. Each flavor has its own team. Consistency within these elements allows us to expand the lineup while showcasing a diverse range of flavors.

There’s a lot of competition in the “good-for-you” beverage category but very few options that are also “fun-for-you.” And it’s getting harder to see what brands stand for vs. just what they look like on the crowded shelf. We aimed to make TEAKOE’s core strategy of “Recreational Refreshment” come through in all aspects of the product experience, from packaging to voice to flavor. We set out to create the go-to beverage for good times from the softball field to the backyard BBQ. The perfect beverage for those who play with a can-in-hand.

TEAKOE manufactures Certified Organic teas using globally sourced ingredients and are recognized as a Certifiably Green manufacturer. As a “Green” producer, we’re committed to energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, alternative transportation and business management. Lastly, the aluminum can construct is infinitely recyclable and the purposeful packaging design promotes the removal of “uniforms” for more sustainable recyclability.
