What is UGC? UGC is an abbreviation for “user-generated content.” It can be described in many ways. The easiest is to think of it as a form of media that looks like it was created by a regular, everyday person while they were doing regular, everyday things. In other words — DIY. Do It Yourself! You don’t need an expensive camera or equipment to create a viral ad or campaign anymore. Remember that video you took on your phone last night, of your friend singing to the radio? That’s user-generated content. Content that was created by you. Social media like TikTok and Instagram is often created from user-generated content, so brands have started to prefer UGC over other forms of media for some of their campaigns. And due to the advancements of our phones, anyone can do it!

Key search terms – user generated content, DIY, social media, selfie, shot by phone, UGC

Photos

We are looking for user-generated photo content that depicts the lifestyle of people, and various events in a candid, light-hearted style. Some ideas for inspiration — capturing your family, friends, colleagues or pets performing either something unplanned, creative, fun, or simply doing their daily activities, etc. Keep in mind that even if it’s UGC, we still require Model Releases for people featured in your photos.

Videos

The demand for realistic videos is increasing every day. Authentic footage straight from the user attracts many customers. From vertical videos suitable for Social Media reels, to vintage home footage from digitalized VHS tapes, it’s time to get real! And remember that the visible selfie stick and ring light are definitely not a problem here, just make sure that you are attaching acceptable Model Releases for everyone featured.

Vectors

We are looking for vector images in a user-generated style. Social media story templates, icons, backgrounds, character drawings — anything that depicts candid lifestyle, and activities involving capturing photos or footage via smartphone. You could even illustrate something happening inside of a phone interface, just make sure you don’t use any copyrighted materials or logos.
