Want To Recreate Amaro Montenegro’s Iconic Bottle and Win Some Cash?

Amaro Montenegro, an Italian bitter produced since 1885, is made from a secret botanical blend formulated from over 40 aromatics and botanicals.

After founder Stanislao Cobianchi perfected his liqueur, he felt his unique aperitif merited an equally special bottle. A staple of bars around the world, Montenegro’s distinctive handbell-shaped bottle stands out among its peers. The bottle has gone through refreshes and refinements over the years, as recently as 2017, but always managed to retain the iconic silhouette that has become an indispensable part of the brand’s identity.

In support of the arts, Montenegro has announced “Montenegro Made,” a grant program that aims to highlight and support emerging artists. Open to US residents 21 years and over, the spirits brand encourages artists to use any media to express the brand’s curious and adventure-seeking nature, which goes back to Montenegro’s origin when Cobianchi would forage for ingredients to include in his amaro. A $2,500 prize will get awarded to the artist who best recreates Amaro Montenegro’s iconic bottle.

To inspire creatives and promote the campaign, Montenegro partnered with fine artist Heather Ihn Martin, embroiderer Sarah K. Benning, and mosaic craftsman Jim Bachor, all of whom have created original art featuring the brand’s signature bottle.

Interested artists can learn more and submit their work at MontenegroMade.com. Entries are being accepted until September 30th, with winners announced October 14th, 2020.
