Clé Tile has always viewed the world of tile through the lens of history and fashion, beginning with founder Deborah Osburn’s pairings of tile with the latest looks from the runway on her blog Tile Envy.
In their most recent collaboration, clé creative director Sarah Lonsdale worked with photographer Laurie Frankel and stylist Alessandra Mortola, placing Marni’s upcoming spring collection within the interiors of the clé studio. The space features Italian designer Cristina Celestino’s modern interpretation of classic terracotta tiles created with Fornace Brioni, a fourth generation Italian ceramics company.
In an age dominated by fast and disposable, photographer Laurie Frankel practices a different way of doing things, considered and precise in her approach, she sculpts light, shapes it to find both the hard and the soft, the beauty and the surprising, the color and the contrast. As witnessed in these photos from two recent look books for the brand, this way of thinking was a perfect match for the creatives at clé and their innovative partners
