In 2017, Andrew Mangum was first introduced to some of the residents of Earl’s Place in Baltimore, a transitional housing program for people in recovery from addiction. The project culminated in a book and exhibition.

They were looking for safe, protected places to stay while traveling when a friend recommended womyn’s lands—historic and revolutionary communities built by lesbians in the 1970s and ’80s.
