The final panels

I collaborated with David Sudlow Designers to design and illustrate some educational panels for English Heritage, which were part of the new interpretation for Pendennis Castle in Cornwall. The brief was to create five panels that helped children to learn about the history of the castle in an engaging way. I created rough drawings, showing composition and space for the provided text and, once approved, I created the full illustration, design and layout of the panels. Each panel needed to have the main focus and information at the top, and so I made sure this area had the most colour and interest, turning to simpler line work at the bottom where areas were less legible. The panels were printed on boards and placed in different areas around the castle.
