Photographer Spotlight: Lawrence Agyei

Lawrence Agyei is a Ghanian photographer with footprints in Italy, currently living on Chicago’s south side. Using portraiture as his medium, Agyei’s subjects find a comfort revealing themselves before his lens, exposing, as he describes, “the hidden languages held deep within the body”. Shot on film, Agyei’s vibrant yet beautifully subtle photographs offer a platform for those he photographs to speak their truths. His images have been featured by The Fader, Apple, VSCO, and The New Yorker
