Italian photographer Vincenzo Pagliuca photographs solitary houses in the the Southern Apennines of Italy in his “mónos” series. Based in Brescia, Italy, he endeavors to capture places he finds extraordinary, with a special interest in rural and suburban Italian landscapes. “mónos” follows suit in its portrayal of unique singular homes, nestled into their environments like monoliths. Photographed in the wintertime under specific light conditions, Pagliuca describes the rustic dwellings as “places of dreams and meditations, which invite us to reflect on the symbolic meaning of the house for human beings.”
