According to the Centre for Retail Research, almost 14,000 shops have permanently closed this year in the UK which is a 24.8% rise for the same period last year. An at-home breast cancer test powered by AI has won the top prize of this year’s James Dyson Award. The Blue Box is the invention of 23-year-old Spanish student Judit Giró Benet. Benet was prompted to design an at-home biomedical testing kit after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the world, but is also one of the most treatable when caught early.
