Spilling with luxury and inspired by Cubaâs rich history, La Palma is a speakeasy bar located in Bondi Beach, Australia. Taking notes from the design elements of 1940s and 1950s-era Cuba, Abraham Lule designed the accents and details for this drinking establishment. Incorporating gold foil accents to the bottles and menus adds an impressionable touch, while using iconic colors like deep greens and vibrant pinks, inciting the tropic flare necessary to pay tribute to Havana Nights.
Between the 40âs and 50âs, the beautiful island of Cuba was filled with Hollywood celebrities and bohemians enjoying a time-out from American prohibition. âLa Havana was a resplendent cosmopolitan city that dutifully catered to the fantasies and desires of North Americans,â says Vicki Gold Levi and Steven Heller in their book: Cuba Style.
