The 90s did a lot of things right. Think Beanie Babies, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, or “The Macarena” as prime cultural movements—OK, so maybe not “The Macarena.” Still, the 90s got a lot of things right, and one we can definitively add to the list is surf culture. 

Being part of the 90s surf culture came with a one-way ticket to carefree vibes. With Nirvana and Pearl Jam blasting in the background, the whole aesthetic was surrounded by looking like you didn’t have a worry in the world. Life was easy, wipeouts were rare, and tequila never ran out, even if the music was more than a little angsty.
