Adobe MAX 2020 - Thoughts

Adobe this year opened their MAX conference to all. It makes sense, we are all virtual, so why not reach more designers and creative folks in the community, so thanks Adobe! As usual, there were a lot of cool announcements. Photoshop brings some nice new features like sky replacement, the possibility of streaming your screen while using it (I wish I had that 12 years ago) in addition to other great additions. There’s Illustrator for the iPad, new updates on Fresco, and Spark as well as After Effects. In addition to that there are some new neat features added to XD. That app is the one that I have been using the most for my personal projects.

3D TransformsThere are tons of sessions happening in the next couple of days. I will try to catch up with them later if the videos are available, but I have to say. Big disclaimer, this is NOT a sponsored post or anything, but it’s an amazing time to be a designer. There are so many tools available that simplify our workflow from using AI to streamlining the hand off of work from UX to ENG with the clever integration of Visual Studio Code with XD. In addition there are tools like Figma, Sketch, Blender, Cinema 4D. All available and accessible from the financial point of view via subscription.

With all these tools and automations, that means we have more time to focus on doing the design, which is translating thoughts into reality to solve a problem to make people's lives easier.  Also, I have to say, I've always been an Adobe fan. I think it's because growing up in Brazil it was so expensive to have an Adobe app. Showing the Adobe boxes was like showing trophies. I guess I am just and old and nostalgic person.

For more information make sure to check out the Adobe Max website. I won’t spoil anything here, just head over there and enjoy it.
