The End

This may come as a surprise but perhaps not the biggest one given the low amount of posts we have published this year. Submissions have been much lower than prior years and a lot of what has come in is very similar to menus we have run in the past: a cool wooden board with an elastic band holding a printed sheet is great but how many times can see the same thing? This is not to say they are bad menus — no, most of them are great — but they don’t make for great, recurring blog content.

As with other blogs we have shut down — FPO and Quipsologies — a lot of it comes down to knowing when we have done the best we can and when something has run its course and we feel that’s the case for Art of the Menu. Also, Brand New demands so much time nowadays that it’s very difficult to run other blogs in a way that is productive and useful for our readers.

We want to thank all the people who have visited Art of the Menu over the eight years we published it. The archives will remain in place to serve as reference for new, great menus.
